What a wonderful day today. Why? ASHLEY'S WEDDING! First a quick run-down of what happened and then my thoughts on the whole thing:

9:30 am: I wake up, my mom insists on dressing me. I tell her "it's not my wedding." But she still wants me to look nice, she picks stuff out for me to wear.
11:00 am: I arrive at my dad's house. I pick clothes that I want to wear there and wear those. No tie for me!
12:30 or so: Sharon shows up! She informs me that this is a "date" so I'm hard pressed to treat her right.
1:00 pm: We go to Target so Sharon can buy a gift for Ashley. She didn't have much time before today to actually go get a gift so it was the best time. We didn't get a gift right away and something rather funny happened. I'm not going to say it here because Ashley will find out about it whenever she opens our gifts. :)
2:00 pm: Sharon and I go to El Torito (mexican food place) because we were both REALLY hungry. We eat, the food was delicious. I pick up the tab because: "This is a date right?"
3:10 pm: We are running a little late and we have to still get Ashley's gift. We stop at another, fancier, Target. Good gift is found, we proceed to wrap the present in the parking lot. The wind made this rather difficult and the wrap job is utter crap. People stare.
4:00 pm: Arrival at the wedding place. Lake San Marcos Country Club is pretty nice. Sharon and I wanted to drive golf carts all over the green during the ceremony (the ceremony was in front of giant windows facing the gold course/greenery scenery). But we figured it'd kinda ruin the wedding. Not that that mattered because a STUPID BABY was crying the whole time.

After that time just sort of blurred. After the ceremony was the reception and many toasts. Sharon and I got our own table so we had a WHOLE bottle of yummy stuff to ourself AND she was a shoe-in to take the centerpiece home (she didn't want to take the centerpiece home because she felt weird, like she was taking it. So I just took a flower out of it and gave that to her.) Lot's of joking around and general fun. Sharon kept trying to get me to dance but I really didn't feel like it. She said "it's not a real date unless you dance." Psh, like I care. NO DANCING ON THE FIRST DATE.

Now about the actual wedding. The ceremony was pretty nice. Your typical fare but Ben and Ashley just looked so happy. Ashley was crying as she walked down the aisle but that's because I rubbed chili powder in her face. Ben messed up once or twice while he was repeating after the priest, it was funny. Umm... stupid baby wouldn't shut up. I saw some old friends from highschool there that I didn't expect to be there. There really isn't much to say about the ceremony itself, it was full of a lot of emotion and it was very touching.

Now, the reception was pretty fun. Like I said, Sharon and I sat in the back at our own table and the DJ just felt the need to pick on us. It's okay, it was fun. The wedding party sat up front and gave about twenty different toasts, one of which was Ben's best man that was put on the spot because Ben insisted he do an "impromptu toast." It wasn't THAT bad. I finally met Ben, he seems like a nice guy and both Ben and Ashley seemed overjoyed that this day had finally arrived. The food was good, the cake was delicious, the people were great and the stars of the night never looked happier (at least I've never seen Ashley happier, I'm not so sure about Ben). I didn't get to catch the garter belt thing because Ben baseball pitched it past me instead of tossing it up into the air. Jerk. Not that I wanted that smelly thing anyway.

Time to end the post. Today was a good day. It was awesome to see Sharon and the wedding was great. I wish both Ashley and Ben the best of lives together.

Shalom.

ps: Ashley, forgive my wedding card. You'll know what I mean when you read it. Oh yeah, and forgive Sharon's too... which also happens to be my fault. :)
