Rain

I love rain. Rain is so great. Too bad it is so rare here in Southern California. However, if it weren't so rare maybe I wouldn't love it so. Who knows? Doesn't really matter as I don't really care. All I know is that it needs to rain more!

Rain is the worlds natural cleaner. Go to sleep dirty, wake up clean. The world has a fresh aura about it after a good rain, despite all the muddy and wet surfaces. When I woke up this morning I looked out my window, it was perfectly clear outside. Apparently the rain cleared away all of the fog and the standard vision obscuring wall of cloud was absent. I could see for miles! Then I looked to the left towards the pool (my bedroom window looks out into the backyard). The pool was FULL.
Filled to the top.

It must have rained at least 6 inches worth of pool depth last night and this morning. I was quite amazed actually, as it's the first time that I can remember that it had rained that much in one night. A week ago the pool was almost filled to the top, about an inch left, but that was only after it had rained for around three days and nights.

Yeah, I'm babbling, but it was just such an awesome sight to wake up to. Unfortunately such a wonderous vision left me feeling empty inside. Why? I wanted to share the scene with someone, anyone. But no one was there. Every morning I wake up it's just me, all alone in the whole house. For the last two years I'd have someone in the same room as me whenever I'd wake up. But now it's just me. I was going to take a picture to share with you all but the camera was out of batteries. I went and bought batteries later in the day though.

Fast forward past shower, breakfast (oh yeah, I eat breakfast now. Just an orange usually but it's better than what I used to eat: nothing.), boring class, more boredom just sitting around, nap and then my usual internet fun/homework/drawing stuff to when my dad comes home. He reminds me that there is a total lunar eclipse going on, which I told him about last night. Since I bought batteries for my camera earlier I decided to try to take a picture. Unfortunately for me, my camera has almost no zoom... but I tried to take a picture anyway. Jittery hands plus a long exposure time means a VERY blurry picture. So I played with the exposure time and took a few pictures. Enjoy.
